Your first letter should always include a general description of yourself, ie., your age, height, hair colour and anything else you care to describe.
|
| · |
Inmates are always interested in your family and your special interests and hobbies too.
|
| · |
Talk to them about what you do with your time, how you spend your days and evenings, where you like to go on vacation, where you work, what you do to relax - they'll be interested!
|
| · |
You may also consider including a photo of yourself in your first letter. Inmates love to see photographs and it's always nice to put a face to a name.

Ask your new pen-pal about their likes and dislikes, their interests and hobbies, but avoid asking about their conviction until you get to know them a little better. Give them time to get to know you and we are sure they will share their story with you without you ever having to ask them. |
